The Grand Canal is the heart of Venice, it is where you see all of life. The water taxis, private shuttles, the ferries and of course the famous gondoliers.
I start the video at Ponte dell'Accademia (Accademia Bridge) with beautiful views along the canal, in particular towards the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and also from the terrace of the lovely Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Then from the Basilica across to Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Square) and the Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace). Of course any view of the Grand Canal would be incomplete without a visit to Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) and beyond.
