Angkor Wat is a temple complex located in Angkor, Cambodia, and is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. It was built during the Khmer Empire in the early 12th century by King Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu, and later transformed into a Buddhist temple.
